We went to see Gus in his year 13 NCEA drama production this evening. It was brilliant. The Good Soul of Seczhuan by Berthold Brecht.

After a long day yesterday working with teachers in Tauranga it was catch up time today. Lots of admin but also an early finish to make the most of the glorious weather. An early start meant there was time for a late afternoon run at Little Waipa. My fastest 12km yet on that route! Stuffed but pleased! And a beautiful sunset.

So, this happened today. Aonghas poured himself a glass of home pressed apple juice which he diluted and added some sugar to. ( he didn’t need to add sugar but he has a sweet tooth!) Then he put it on the table at his place to dinner. About 5 minutes later we heard the sound of glass breaking. The glass had spontaneously shattered! Very neatly but lots of mess! Apple juice all over but glass in a neat pile. We collected it all and put it on a plate to carry away but took a photo first.

Shortest day. On a count down to summer! Managed to squeeze a run in on the way down to Taumarunui today. A new trail – Mangaokewa – a bit gnarly through the bush but then came out into beautiful limestone valley.
