Clearly, I have missed a couple of days as the maths doesn’t work! Never mind!
Don’t you just love 2nd hand shops? Fascinating what people will buy. One man’s junk is definitely another man’s treasure. But the commentary and insights into social history is what intrigues me. Just take this front cover of People magazine from 1959.
The truth about Rock Hudson was still to come out. The tragedy is that he had to hide who he was.
Today’s photo is a bowl of kale chips. Hand made by Nigel…a suggestion from a friend in response to ‘What do you do with a surplus of kale in the garden?’
Very tasty, I have to say.
Christmas shopping today…reasonably successful too. Then a lovely catch up with the rest of the Minions. Marzipan Snowfig came along too.
20km out on the trail today at Tarawera. It’s such a beautiful trail and I was pleased that I felt much better ru nibg than I did a couple of days ago! Finishes off with a swim in the lake and relaxing on the beach watching these wee ones digging holes.
My sister sent me a video of my littlest sister’s 50th birthday. It made me cry. I also received a parcel from my other sister for Christmas. I miss my sisters. We don’t talk much. I wish we did.
Had to drive out early to Piopio for work this morning. So knocked off early to go for a (very laboured) run with tired legs late this afternoon at Kaniwhaniwha. Spent a very pleasant 10 minutes sitting in the river cooling off afterwards. Found a skeleton leaf under the water.
Finished the day off with a walk up and run down Kakepuku, then a run round Ngaroto. Bloody hard work…the lack of activity over the last few weeks was noticed!
Little minxy elf got in on the act.
Another hot day in the Tron. Caught the tail end of the day on my way home.
The heat keeps on. Love it. And the garden is blooming. Lots of raspberries to come…if the birds and elves don’t eat them first!
A stroll to Duck Island for ice cream seemed to be in order today…
