cats

Quiet day but seemed to get stuff done. Boy got a bar stool for his desk, Nigel’s birthday presents bought in the sales, drinks and dinner round at friends then I was roundly beaten at backgammon this evening!  Feeling a bit flat – must be ‘post-sister visit’ and post-Christmas blues!  Think I’d quite like to come back as a cat…

Why is it that cats miaow plaintively to come in then sit and look at you as if you’re stupid when you open the door for them?

The sun came out today and I decided to escape the house and go and work in the cafe down the road.  I miss the magnolia trees at Dio – I used to walk past them everyday on the way to my classroom and watch as the buds grew and then burst into flower and then fade and fall.  The ones on the way down to the river are pretty stunning though.  I came across a couple of cats too – black cats crossing your path are good luck and this wee fella looks a bit battered but happy soaking up the sun. The one in the basket is Tonks – her new bed in Aonghas’ bedroom!

7Cheese graters or cats…? I went to grate some cheese to go on top of my soup at lunch time to find that my husband had bought another cheese grater. That brings the tally in our house to at least 7! But they are all different and as @thatcheesegrater posted on my instagram post when I asked how many cheese graters one needed .. “All of them. We deserve equality”

So here is a photo of the cat who kept the bed warm for Gus today.
