Another beautiful day in paradise! Went for a wander over the pa site and along to the wharf. I like the windows, reflections and windows in windows in this wee fisherman’s bothy on the wharf.

A stunning autumn day. Clear blue sky and perfect for a trail run that climbed 1000m then descended with some pretty technical stuff in the middle. River crossings, clambering up on all fours up steep slopes and slippy rocks made for a great course at the Cranleigh Kauri Run. Pleased with 3hrs 23mins. The views were amazing!
Rā 349 Rāapa 14 o Hakihea
A long day out today to explore the Coromandel. We dug a hole to sit in at Hot Water Beach, ran to cool off in the ocean and then back to warm up in the hot water. Brilliant! On to Cathedral Cove – the path is much changed since the last time we were there but the Cove is just as stunning. Picnic on the beach then across the 309 to the Kauri Grove – a reluctant and sleepy pair were made to get out of the car to walk to the Kauri but I think they appreciated it in the end!! They had plenty of time to sleep on the test of the journey back home!
