Learning all the way today. I spent today in the office in Auckland learning about Te Tiriti o Waitangi and NZ history. Inspiring. Last day of the school term and a group of teachers from a school I an working with spent their final afternoon working with me over kai. They are an inspirational crew; so dedicated and passionate about learning and teaching. I love their enthusiasm and ideas. This is a good old brainstorm!

I spent a morning in a very special school this morning watching children exploring, learning, playing and finding treasures.
I love that I get to work with so many amazing educators who share what they are doing to inspire their students. I also get to see the very different challenges that face teachers in all sorts of settings. Today I had the privilege of working with a group of teachers in Thames.
The other great thing is seeing the beautiful countryside as I drive to places across the Waikato. I had to stop on the way home to take this rainbow in the Kaimais this afternoon.
On the road again. I visited Tauranga Primary School and saw the amazing learning that was going on in such a beautiful setting. There was a real buzz of engagement and happiness. Then workshops with teachers at Tauranga Boys College – good learning conversations and plenty to think about. Topped off with a walk up Mauao and a swim in the sea. Perfect!
We had a full workshop today in Papatoetoe. Lots of great conversations about learning, exploring ideas, sharing practice and excitement about the possibilities that digital affords our learners.
So the conversation over dinner revolved around PLNs, social networked connections and how powerful they can be for learning. This was how Nigel chose to illustrate how the connections work. I added the red lines! The connections were brutally cut off when he ate the crackers!
