2019 – a new challenge

A new year, a new venture. Keeping it simple this year so back to a photo a day but am posting to a Flickr group which has been going for 12 years set up by our friend Alan Levine aka @cogdog

It seems like a more sociable way of sharing photos – I felt a little out of my depth with the Dogwood Photo challenge, though I’m glad that I gave it a go.

Anyway I thought I would try to write a post each month and share the photos I uploaded to the Flickr group. Just not sure what the best way to do that is….

I could just post the link to my own wee album which I have set up so that I keep track of the photos I share into the group. It’s OK, but you’ll see the whole album and not just the photos for one month….

Or I could make a collage – but iPiccy only seems to have set grids – the biggest is 5×5 and the default frame is square…

Alternatively, I can upload all the photos into WordPress and create a gallery – that took an age! And I just get thumbnails and not the whole picture…. Anyway, this was January – in reverse!

  • a mountain biker rounds the corner of a narrow track coming towards us. There is a rocky wall to his left and a drop away to the river (which you can't see) on his right. Ferns and bracken line the path, tall trees are at the back.
  • a crazy woman - a trail runner - wearing trail running clothes is doing a handstand at the top of a mountain ridge. It is a beautiful sunny day with white clouds that form a herringbone pattern in the blue sky. The path is dry hard baked mud sandy in colour, it stretches out along the ridge beyond the woman. Shrubs line the path and a mountain range is in the distance.
  • A man has his arm around a woman's shoulder - clearly they are a couple. They look happy and content. They are standing in the evening sun at the top of a mountain. There are trees around them, to the left a wooden hut and in the distance a mountain range. A white cloud sits above the mountains with blue sky above the cloud.
  • Two women of a certain age wearing running gear standing in the top of a wooden structure that marks that summit of a hill. It is bright and sunny so they are wearing caps. Behind them there are mountains and green rolling fields and hills which you can see through the canopy of trees.

…and now I just need to add the alt text!
