Waitangi Day. Long weekend = 2nd Monday off in two weeks. I’ll leave the political and philosophical commentary for another day because it is something I really need to find a whole lot more about.
We decided to hit the Waikato River trails on our bikes today. 12.5km from Mangakino to Whakamaaru and the same back again (surprising, eh?). Ups and downs both ways but also quite exposed and it was a hot, hot day! Good to cool off in the lake at the end. Here’s Nigel looking very wee next to the big boulder.
