The day after the day before. Tired. Mixed feelings. Another Oxfam medal but it doesn’t seem so special when we didn’t finish as a full team. On the other hand I am proud that the three of us picked ourselves up and managed to get in under last year’s time after we lost Jo at 65km.

Rā 70, Rāhoroi 11 o Poutū-te-rangi 2017
The North Island has been hit by torrential rain, flooding, winds, road closures…The landing last night into Hamilton was a bit lumpy and the rain poured all night but it was ridiculously warm and muggy.
But the Minions were undeterred and we headed to Raglan for some beach training.
We found a hole in the weather – 2 hours of sunshine.
Day 44 February 13th 2016
Another long walk with the Posties today. The team is looking a little different because sadly Deb has had to pull out due to a toe injury. So Mel has valiantly stepped into the breach and it was a baptism of fire for her today. Unforgiving terrain and overwhelming heat! Great work, Posties!

Day 38 February 7th 2016
Had a hard day out on the trails today with ‘international post’. Good varied terrain on the Karamu Walkway which is part of the Te Araroa track, perfect training for the oxfam trailwalk. Hot, hot, hot and lots of hills! Oh, and stunning views too of the Waikato. 100km 8 weeks today! We’re aiming to raise at least $3500 for Oxfam so please donate for a great cause at oxfam trailwalk
